Dr Richard Fitzgibbons
When anger is not immediately met with forgiveness, something evil begins to happen in the human heart. Anger gives way to bitterness, which gives way to resentment, and that gives way to unkind words and unkind deeds, these give way to hatred and disgust, and hatred and disgust give way to chaos and destruction. And when this series of events take place between a husband and a wife, its toxic effect fractures their relationship and family life in general, often culminating in separation and divorce.
It's not easy to forgive and no one, including Jesus, ever said it was. Forgiveness is a demanding process but a process that brings hope, healing, and new life - even to some of the most tried relationships.
