Our guests maintain that no one wants to be divorced. The effect of it causes devastating emotional fall out, creates a social demotion among family and friends, and produces a kind of death in the deep inner recesses of the heart.
When children are involved, the suffering is only exacerbated. Divorced Catholics are a population woefully under-served, misunderstood, and often avoided in our parishes. These realities only intensify the already painful emotions and deep interior suffering the divorced person is experiencing.
How can they come to healing and hope, and can our Catholic faith itself become the means to take them there?
