There are times in many people's lives when things seem dim and grim, or out of control and painful. The thought crosses the mind, will anything ever change or will times like these remain forever? What is going on in the human person when emotions like these rise up? When are they appropriate and when are they not? Are they simply moods that will pass or can they signal that some thing is happening - physically, emotionally, psychologically, or spiritually. Once we know, what then can we do to establish equilibrium and balance, joy and peace?
