Christmas conjures up many images in our minds and many emotions in our hearts. From warm and loving memories, to joy and hope, to anticipation of midnight Mass to happy thoughts of the family gathered ‘round the tree, this feast day, more than any others, reaches deep into our psyche and soul.
But, for those who have experienced loss, are lonely or isolated, suffering a serious physical illness or difficult reversal in life, these images and emotions can become an unbearable pain.
