On January 20 of this year, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, reaffirmed a rule that virtually all private health care plans, including religious employers, must provide sterilization, abortifacients, and contraception.
In response to the outcry from religious leaders, the religious faithful, and citizens in general, the Administration scrambled back and made an accommodation - an accommodation so narrow that it is no accommodation at all.
Since then, lawsuits have been filed against the Federal Government by major Catholic organizations, as well as a number of state attorney generals. Included among those who have filed lawsuits is the Eternal Word Television Network, the largest Catholic media network in the world.
